First of all, thank you for choosing a Caressi sink and/or tap!
But how can you easily maintain your Copper, Gold, or Gun Metal sink and/or tap? A Copper, Gold, or Gun Metal sink and/or tap in the kitchen stays beautiful if you maintain it properly. How you can ensure that the Copper, Gold, and Gun Metal accessories in your kitchen remain radiant is explained in this maintenance guide.
Sinks and/or taps in Copper, Gold, and Gun Metal colors have a PVD coating, but what does this mean?
A PVD coating, or 'Physical Vapor Deposition,' is a coating that forms a thin, strong top layer on a surface (in this case, stainless steel) through the deposition of metal vapor. With a PVD coating, you enjoy the look of real Copper, Gold, or Gun Metal and the properties of stainless steel.
Sinks and/or taps in Copper, Gold, and Gun Metal colors are even more beautiful when they are clean and shiny. To ensure they always look sparkling clean and like new, we give you a few simple tips to easily maintain your sink and/or tap.
Maintaining your Copper, Gold, or Gun Metal sink and/or tap:
Tip 1: Clean regularly. By cleaning the sink and/or tap regularly, you prevent limescale buildup and dirt accumulation on and around the sink and/or tap. Wipe the sink and/or tap at least once a week, and also clean the tap well during kitchen cleaning. Proper maintenance prevents permanent stains and makes cleaning easier.
Tip 2: Use the right cleaning agents. Cleaning a Copper, Gold, or Gun Metal sink and/or tap does not require special cleaning agents. A warm soapy solution with mild detergent keeps your sink and/or tap sparkling clean. Descaling can also be done with a 50% white vinegar and 50% water solution. Test this on a small area first.
Tip 3: Use a soft cloth. Prevent scratches or other damages by wiping the sink and/or tap with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use microfiber cloths. Always dry the surface well with a dry, soft cloth.
Tip 4: Avoid these cleaning agents. Although the PVD coating is strong, avoid using bleach, chlorine, ethylene oxides, and other harsh or highly acidic cleaning agents. Use pH-neutral cleaning agents.
Tip 5: Avoid abrasive sponges and cloths. To prevent scratches and other permanent damages, do not use abrasive sponges, steel wool, microfiber, or hard cloths when cleaning the sink and/or tap. Use a soft cloth to keep the surface shiny.
Tip 6: Use a Caressi bottom grid for your sink. A Caressi bottom grid is a stainless steel grid that you can place at the bottom of the sink. Using a bottom grid protects the sink bottom and keeps the sink looking new longer. Available in all PVD colors and fits (almost) all Caressi sinks.
Finally: A sink and/or tap with a PVD color layer is beautiful but more susceptible to scratches or damages than a regular stainless steel sink or tap. Handle with care and use proper maintenance for long-lasting enjoyment of your Caressi product.
